Our tours will help you see more in less time, and have more fun doing it. Venice is one of the world's most incredible places to visit. It has everything-- history, art, food, music, architecture, culture and untold beauty. It's also not the easiest place to get to know. Group after group of day tourists crowd Venice's main attractions, and the city's confusing maze of little alleyways and canals can leave you frustratingly lost as you try to find where you wish to go.
We invite you to join us in Venice, to immerse yourself in the city by seeing it a different way. Don't settle for being part of an impersonal large group of tourists being herded from sight to sight. This city, and you, deserve more.
In our backstreets tours we'll guide you to the Venice that most tourists never see. You will have the opportunity to experience Venice, not just walk through it. Rather than staring at a map, you will be led through the streets at a leisurely pace so that you can actually see Venice, rather than the lines on a map.
With our essential Venice tours we will guide you easily to the main attractions, as well as some of the less traveled paths. This is particularly useful if you have only a day, or even only a few hours, in Venice. It is also useful if you are staying longer. It gives you a look at the most famous sights, and an idea as to which sights you might wish to come back to.
Our Tours are Private We won't give you a crowded tour - it's just you. We go at your pace because we aren't driven by a timetable, or a rigid agenda. If stopping a little longer in one spot or another is what you desire, then that's what we will do. Want to go into a shop, or stop for a snack? No problem.
Venice is bigger than you think! We often hear from our clients that Venice is much larger than expected. People have an image of the city being a Disney Land, or about the size of the French Quarter in New Orleans. In fact, Venice has about 60,000 inhabitants, and at one time had over 200,000.
The city is medieval in its layout, and can be very confusing, even with a map. It is sometimes very difficult to orient yourself as to where you are with respect to the map. This is complicated by the fact that the streets are narrow, convoluted, and lined with buildings four or five stories tall, making it impossible to see landmarks.
What the Tours are not: The tours are not intended to provide detailed historical information. You may be provided some historical background, and perhaps told stories or given information about certain sights, but history is not the focus of the tours. The primary focus of all the tours is to guide you around Venice easily and without stress so you can see Venice in a relaxed manner without the use of map.
Also, although we may on occasion go into a church or a museum at your request, we do not provide a tour, per se, of these places.
